Defining the concept of the mind has been a rocky road for scientists. The mind represents a field of consciousness, and is the very fuel of our being. Although many agree that there’s more than just the physical form (brain), it turns out that we’ve been viewing the mind the wrong way. We see the brain as a computer and the mind as software in the computer. Well, it turns out that there’s so much more to this.
Without a mind, you aren’t considered a living person. Shocking, right? A new study by the UCLA School of Medicine says that our mind isn’t in our skull or body. The most shocking conclusion that they made was that our mind extends beyond our physical bodies. This means our mind isn’t a perception of our experiences, but rather that our experiences themselves. The growing evidence proves this view of the mind is more than just a network of neurons that communicate with each other through electrical signals called synapses. It’s no secret or doubt that the brain is important (and vital), but the mind is more than just brain activity and extends beyond your body.
The mind is a complex mathematical system
Even though the concepts of a variety of sciences back these claims, the initial idea for this definition came from Mathematics. Scientists claim the mind is a complex system that can influence things outside itself. Complex systems are chaotic but self-organizing, and scientists believe that this is the idea of the foundation of mental health. Self-organization connects together initial ideas. Scientists say that the integration of ideas is the foundation of mental health. The mind is considered to regulate energy and the stream of energy within among us.
Most of modern society tends to feel isolated and alone when asked about how they see the mind. It’s often thought that the mind is within the brain and is represented in the form of brain activity. But the truth is that we are all part of each other’s minds. The minds isn’t just brain activity. When people will learn to believe the truth, we will feel a stronger sense of belonging and connection, as opposed to being lonely.
Perceiving our mind as a part of our brain only makes us lonely and disconnected. What’s important is that we learn to see our mind more than a product of our brain. To see our mind through experiences and relations. This way, we will appreciate the benefits of experiences. There’s only one way though that you can start thinking like this, and that’s by opening your mind.
Freeing your mind is the only way you can connect with other minds through inter-relations that connect your experiences with other people, which prove that your mind extends beyond your body. Through opening our mind, we’ll start the perceive humanity as a connected system, growing together through relations, similar to the web of life, only this time it’s called the web of mind.
